Step 1 Elearning: Complete your academics online before you come down to Key West! Get started with PADI Elearning.
Step 2 Register: Contact us to make a reservation for 3 charters which will consist of 2 afternoon charters to the reef and 1 morning charter to the Vandenberg.
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver eLearning is designed to improve your underwater knowledge and skills. You can enroll immediately after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification regardless of your skill level. The course helps you build confidence in navigation, fine-tune buoyancy skills and introduces you to different diving activities through your Adventure Dives.
5 ADVENTURE DIVES
After completing your eLearning, you’ll make five Adventure Dives:
- a Deep Dive (beyond 30m/100F),
- an Underwater Navigation Dive,
- and three Adventure Dives: Buoyancy Control, Wreck Exploration, and Fish Identification.
During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving.
The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.
ACADEMIC
PADI’s eLearning option is a web-based system that lets you learn about the most popular Adventures Dives.
You study at your own pace through an easy to use, interactive program. You also have access to an online version of the Advanced Open Water Diver manual and can complete sections for other Adventure Dives as directed by your PADI Instructor.
EQUIPMENT
Beyond using basic scuba equipment, you’ll need a compass and dive knife or dive tool. You’ll also use specialized gear depending on the Adventure Dives you choose. Your PADI Instructor will explain the equipment that you need and may suggest additional gear.

2. Sign up with PADI for Advanced Open Water Diver Online – PADI’s eLearning option – to get started immediately.

For Open Water Certification, this option requires only 2 days of confined water and boat once you arrive in Key West.
